Cinco de Mayo en Salem

Hola! And may I add, Buenas Dias!  Today is May 4th, and you know what that means... tomorrow is (ARRIBA!) Cinco de Mayo.

What's really awesome about Cinco de Mayo this year is that Salem has two - count'em, two! - awesome Mexican restaurants at which you can celebrate.  So, grab you sombrero and head out to Howling Wolf Taqueria or (and?!) Comida tomorrow to celebrate Mexico's victory over France in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.*

Howling Wolf is on Derby Street and they are serving up fresh and affordable Mexican food, Sangria, beer and wine.  The burritos are great, but I really love their Posole soup. FeedYourWolf.com. \

Comida Mexican Taqueria is at 131 Essex Street across from the Visitor Center.  While you won't find sangria at Comida, you will find fresh, fast Mexican fare.  The guacamole is muy bueno, as are their salsas.  ComidaSalem.com.

Feliz Cinco de Mayo! I hope you take advantage of the date to eat chips and salsa, toast with sangria, and find your favorite taco, burrito, or quesadilla.

Once again, I say, Arriba!!
