Open Houses at J. Mode, Rouge on Friday, December 2nd

First of all, we must acknowledge that Santa - SANTA! - arrives in Salem in his traditional manner, atop the Hawthorne Hotel, on Friday, December 2nd at 5:30 PM.  Bundle up the kids and get ye to the Common for this festive welcome.

And then there are two festive and fabulous Holiday Open House shopping events that will help the ladies look fantastic, and give guidance to Mr. Claus and anyone else looking to successfully navigate a season of shopping for one or more women!

J. Mode on Front Street is celebrating Black Friday with Jenny Johnson, host of the popular show TV Diner, from 6-8pm on Friday, December 2. They will be presenting the Alex & Ani Holiday Collection, and 10% of sales December 2-5 will be donated by J. Mode to HAWC.  If you haven't seen the Alex & Ani Bangles, you should.  They're very cool, great gifts, at a perfect price point to buy one or many.

Where does the time go?! It seems like just yesterday that I was being wooed by the glamor, beauty and stellar customer service at Rouge Cosmetics for the very first time. Hard to believe Rouge is turning 3 this year.

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to Rouge Cosmetics!

I was in a meeting this morning and we were talking about Christmas shopping. This was refreshing, because a great number of meetings I am attending are talking about October and Salem Haunted Happenings.

We talked about Men's Shopping Nights and Girl's Nights Out and how much shopping in Salem has changed over the past 10 years. It is amazing. And it's not news to this blog - I can't believe how fantastic shopping in Salem is today, especially as compared to when I arrived on the Salem scene in 1998.

One of Salem's favorite shops is celebrating her second birthday this month, and this is a good one for the ladies to know about - prizes and gifts galore, girls!

Rouge Cosmetics will celebrate with complimentary makeup applications during the month of September - appointments are necessary and are available every Sunday-Friday during September (Saturdays in Rouge are pretty remarkable - brides, brides, brides, happy chatter, beautiful women - so you may want to stop by on a Saturday just to absorb some of the happiness.).

Get Glowing for the Holidays

I was at a meeting a couple of weeks ago and Anne Massey, who owns Rouge Cosmetics, described the store as, "We are located on Derby Street. We glow pink at night." I love that description, and at this time of year, seeing that warm pink glow coming from Rouge warms the cockles of my heart. Or it warms my pores. Some days it's hard to tell.

Rouge has some fabulous holiday gift ideas on their web site. They also have the list printed in convenient flyer format in case you want to leave it surreptitiously around the house. And they are running a "give a gift - get a gift" program in December, so if you're a "What's in it for me" personality - you'll find Rouge is a win/win this month.
