Destination Salem received 255 submissions from 148 photographers to the 2010 Photography Contest! This is a 56% increase over the number of photographers who submitted images in 2009, so the competition was pretty fierce!
The Destination Salem Marketing Committee has whittled the 255 down to seven, and now it's time for you to choose. You have through Friday morning to vote. We will announce the winner at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 17.
Click here to vote for your favorite photograph, or visit SurveyMonkey.com/s/DSPhotoContest. You can only vote once from your computer, so choose wisely!
The images are online at Salem.org/PhotoContest, too. Feel free to share with your friends!

What an injustice that the young woman who WON this contest will not have her beautiful picture on the cover !!
I know a lot of people who agree and will not be reading the Salem Visitor's Guide this year !!!
We are very sympathetic to anyone's disappointment that Hillary Dearborn's winning image is not the featured image on the cover of the 2011 Salem Guide. Unfortunately, when we did final layouts, the image of the Salem Willows fence did not work graphically as the primary image.
The winning image is included on the cover as one of the insets, and Ms. Dearborn has been given credit for winning the contest in the guide credits. In addition, Ms. Dearborn won a cash prize.
I am sorry you will not be reading the 2011 Salem Guide, because we feel it is an excellent resource for exploring the City.
