The Salem Fire Department will hold a memorial service commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11 at 10:00 AM on Sunday, September 11, 2011.
The service will honor the victims of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93, which crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The recently completed 9/11 Memorial will be dedicated after the ceremony. The memorial was designed and built by the dedicated men and women of the Salem Fire Department. The center stone of the memorial is capped by a 100 pound steel beam recovered from Ground Zero, which was made available by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
The service will begin at 10:00 AM on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 48 Lafayette Street, Salem (rain or shine).
